Porcelain veneers are made from thin shells of porcelain that is bonded directly to the natural tooth by a skilled cosmetic dentist. Veneers are used to improve tooth function and appearance. Smile design with veneers focuses primarily on enhancing aesthetics in color, position, shape, size, alignment, symmetry, and overall smile appearance.
Veneers offer a wide range of benefits. The confidence you will gain after this procedure is limitless, no matter if you decide on one or two veneers or a whole smile transformation.
Dental veneers are:
We use the highest quality porcelain product, custom designed and created by master ceramists. We don’t send your case to a lab that is mass-producing cookie-cutter smiles. Each tooth is carefully crafted, making every smile unique to the individual.
Veneers are used to enhance or correct aesthetic and functional issues in a smile. In most cases, some enamel may need to be removed from your natural tooth. This does not harm the tooth structure but allows the veneers to work properly to cover the natural tooth. The porcelain veneer is bonded to the natural tooth to create a harmonious tooth structure that is stronger than the natural tooth alone. The process of bonding a veneer to a tooth is an irreversible enhancement. Maintaining appropriate oral hygiene will keep your natural teeth and veneers in good condition.
You can eat all types of food and drink with veneers without fear of damaging, breaking, or discoloring the veneers.
When veneers are made with high-quality porcelain and completed by a qualified and experienced cosmetic dentist, they should not break, chip, or come loose.
The veneers process is completed over 2 appointments, the temps and the finals. Both appointments are generally pain-free because we use anesthetic. We work with each patient to understand what they need during the procedure to eliminate pain, anxiety, or discomfort. We provide several options to accommodate each patient’s needs, including local anesthetic, conscious sedation, and IV sedation.

An in-person consultation is a great option for a more in-depth meeting with Dr. Hales. During the in-office consultation, you’ll have the opportunity to get a Smile Test Drive by Dr. Hales. With the Smile Test Drive, Dr. Hales places a removable material over the teeth to show you in real-time the potential of your smile with veneers. The test drive smile can be worn for a few hours so you can truly “try before you buy.” The Smile Test Drive will give you the assurance you need to move forward with veneers with full confidence.
A 3D scan or impression (*for out-of-town patients) is created of your current smile. This serves as a guide for the design of your new smile with veneers. Dr. Hales begins the design consultation with the ceramists to create a wax model of your new smile. He communicates what changes you would like to see with your new smile, including your goals for the color, shape, and size of the veneers.
Your natural teeth are prepped for veneers by removing minimal tooth structure from the natural teeth. The goal is to remove the least amount of tooth structure needed to achieve the aesthetic goals for your smile. Molds are taken, and temporary veneers are placed. Temporary veneers are models of the final veneers. You wear the temporary veneers while the ceramist crafts the porcelain veneers.
Temporary veneers are removed. Porcelain veneers are bonded individually to each tooth to complete your smile transformation. Your bite is digitally scanned to ensure proper alignment and function of the teeth. Your new smile is also scanned for a night guard that you can wear at night while you sleep to provide additional protection to your veneers.
