In some cases, simply contouring the natural teeth, whitening, and/or adjusting the gum line will create more softness and symmetry in the smile to improve the overall aesthetic.

Laser gum contouring is frequently recommended for smiles that appear “gummy” or asymmetrical. Many veneer cases include minimal to moderate gum contouring. The gingival tissue is removed using a soft tissue diode laser. Improving the gum line creates more symmetry and balance in the smile.

The artificial tooth is held in place by two crowns on either side that are cemented in place. Another option for a missing tooth is a dental implant. A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is surgically placed into the jaw to support a tooth restoration. A dental implant provides a strong foundation to permanently replace a tooth.
